Jack Stack awarded 2020 Remanufacturing ACE Educate Award

Three winners were announced on October 15, 2020 for the prestigious Remanufacturing ACE Awards. As with most 2020 events, this year’s ACE Awards looked a little different from previous ceremonies; the celebration was held virtually. The presentation also included recognition for past winners of the Awards.

The Remanufacturing ACE Awards is an international competition sponsored by the Remanufacturing Industries Council (RIC). Nominations for these awards were accepted for individuals in three categories, based on RIC’s mission to Advocate, Collaborate, and Educate on behalf of the remanufacturing industry.

The ACE Award is granted to an inspiring person that is recognized for their leadership in creating positive change for the remanufacturing industry and sustainability. The nominations were judged by a panel of industry leaders.

Vaughn Henson, RIC Chair, and Director of Business Development at CNHi Reman opened the event with a segment titled Pandemic Good Deeds, acknowledging the outstanding contributions and positive impact from RIC members during these unprescendented times. RIC members made significant contributions to supply personal protective equipment and other equipment for our front line health care providers.

Mr. Henson also spoke highly of how the ACE Awards give back to the industry. In addition to an award to display, Remanufacturing ACE Awards winners receive an education scholarship to award within their community, encouraging future industry leaders to become more engaged with remanufacturing before graduation. Five of the past scholarship awardees were introduced at the virtual event, ranging from Associates Degree students studying to be Technicians to Master’s Degree students studying Sustainability.

Paul Adamson, RIC Secretary and Marketing & Membership Committee Chair, then stepped in to present the 2020 Remanufacturing ACE Awards. He commended the accomplishments of each finalist prior to celebrating the winners in each category.

Jack Stack, CEO of SRC Holdings Corp., was the recipient of the Educate Award. Stack has left an indelible mark on the remanufacturing industry and generously shares his formula for success with others. He helped shape the educational efforts of RIC as a Founding Chairman.

“Receiving the ACE Award for Education is very special to us,” said Stack, “We have been in the Remanufacturing Industry for close to 50 years. We are proud to help our community learn about the benefits of it. Thank you RIC for honoring us with this award, which we promise to ‘pay it forward.’”

2020 recipients for the other ACE Award categories are:

Advocate: Michael Schmit, Remanufacturing Technology Director, GE Healthcare is a strong advocate on behalf of the entire industry. He participates in many industry events and brings a strong representation for the healthcare sector to RIC.

Collaborate: Jeffrey Stukenborg, Reman Engineering Leader, ZF Group is passionate about the value of cross-sector collaboration and enjoys sharing solutions in the hopes that a solution that one sector uses regularly will be just the solution that another sector was seeking. He regularly collaborates across sectors to benefit the entire industry.
