SRC Celebrates 10 Employee Owners Graduating with Associates Degrees
On May 15, 2019, ten SRC employee owners were awarded associate degrees in manufacturing technology at Ozarks Technical Community College’s commencement ceremony.
The students obtained their degrees through a 3 year custom cohort program with OTC. The program is designed to allow SRC associates to pursue degrees relevant to their careers without interfering with their work schedules. Full-time associates with at least a 90-day tenure are eligible for the program.
The program graduates and their respective divisions are:
Jerry Wright, SRC Logistics
Leo Cortez, Springfield Remanufacturing Corp.
Curtis Cavender, Springfield Remanufacturing Corp.
Aaron Doucette, Springfield Remanufacturing Corp.
Shay Leingang, Springfield Remanufacturing Corp.
Jeff Rowland, SRC Electrical
Greg Childress, SRC Electrical
Sarah Wardle, SRC Electrical
Angela Leavitt, SRC Electrical
Jasin Johnson, SRC of Lexington
“I didn’t know what I was capable of,” said Doucette. “We’ve all had work, school, hobbies and families to give our time to. I learned just how much I can handle. This program taught me who I am.”
In conjunction with their final assignment, the graduates presented their capstone projects to OTC faculty, SRC executives and their peers on May 8 at SRC Holdings. The capstone projects focus on opportunities for improvements and efficiencies within SRC manufacturing facilities.
“You set the standard on how we should do training in our community,” said Dr. Matt Hudson, Executive Dean of Career, Technical and Community Development at OTC. “I am proud to be part of this program.”
