SRC's Community Relations Commitee Helps Grant Wish

On Tuesday, May 22, SRC hosted a celebration much different from the typical office party. It was not for an associate's birthday or retirement. Instead, all eyes were on 7-year-old Alice. Not only was she celebrating her birthday with purple cupcakes, but celebrating a wish she has had for almost two years: a playground.

Alice has been battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia T-Cell since her diagnosis at only three years old. Even through two years of chemotherapy treatments, she enjoyed playing games, playing make believe and arts and crafts. Her free-spirited and active personality gave way to her request for a playground from Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2015. In April, SRC contributed to Make-A-Wish of Missouri. SRC's contribution and that of other donors helped grant Alice's wish for a playground for her and her 9 siblings.

SRC's Community Relations Committee (CRC) invited Alice and her family to SRC Holdings's office in Springfield, Missouri, to celebrate Alice's wish and officially meet her. Even more meaningful, the celebration fell on Alice's birthday. SRC associates and the CRC took the opportunity to eat fun-colored cupcakes and present Alice with a teddy bear.

Alice completed her treatment in October of 2017 and is in remission. To help grant wishes like Alice's, visit Make-A-Wish today.

Alice enjoys swimming, playing outside, arts and crafts and make believe.
