SRC Honored with Distinguished Business and Industry Award from Missouri Community College Association

The SRC Family of Companies have been honored with the Distinguished Business and Industry Award from the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA). The award, which was presented at a ceremony during the MCCA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri, on November 9, recognizes businesses that play a significant role in partnering with their local community college to boost economic activity and provide support to students and programs.

SRC was nominated for the award by Ozarks Technical Community College, which promotes learning through accessible, high-quality workforce training and technical education in southwest Missouri. SRC has partnered with OTC for more than 15 years, offering financial support to the OTC Foundation as sponsors of their annual golf tournament and contributing to capital campaigns. Notable contributions include six-figure gifts to the diesel remanufacturing laboratory in 2019 and the Plaster Center for Advanced Manufacturing in 2022.

In conjunction with OTC, SRC launched a customized cohort program in 2008 for its employee-owners to earn a manufacturing technology associate degree. SRC covers all the costs for its associates who participate in the program, including tuition, books, and fees. Since its inception, 44 associates have earned degrees through the cohort, and another 21 are slated to graduate in the spring of 2025.

Multiple SRC associates are actively involved in the college by serving on OTC advisory boards and committees, and CEO Jack Stack has participated in numerous speaking engagements with OTC Chancellor Hal Higdon highlighting the success of the ongoing partnership.

“We are so grateful for our partnership with OTC and all they do for our associates, our company, and our community.,” said Krisi Schell, Executive Vice President of HR at SRC Holdings Corp. “Their dedication to understanding our industry and providing education and training for current and future workforce needs is unmatched. We sincerely appreciate this recognition and their continued support of our people.”
